Safe & Sound Soundproofing Glass
Adding an Anglian soundproofing option to your new White Knight windows, doors or conservatory will give you peace as well as comfort.
In the modern world noise is a fact of life. It is a nuisance, often causing annoyance and sometimes even physical and mental problems.
It can originate from all sorts of sources like aircraft, factories, roads, traffic, pubs and clubs or just noisy neighbours.
See to the right for an example.
Anglian knows that the glazing in your windows, doors and conservatories plays an important role in keeping noise in or out and making life more comfortable.
Sound travels in waves, and when it hits a solid object like a window it reverberates.
If the two panes of glass are the same thickness, then the sound waves vibrate both panes at the same frequency. This means that whilst the level of sound is deadened, it still travels through into your home.
With different thicknesses of glass, sound waves still vibrate the glass but the vibrations occur at different frequency levels. This distorts the noise level and reduces the amount of noise that passes into your home.
Anglian have launched a new range of glass options - Sound™ and Safe & Sound™, which can further reduce these outside noises to make your house a more relaxing and quiet place to be.
Each of your windows can be designed with different options to reflect their position to the outside world - for example if you have a noisy road outside the back of your house, you can pick Safe & Sound glass for just those windows.

The normal glazing option that comes with our White Knight windows includes two panes of 4mm glass separated by a 16mm cavity. This provides a superior level of sound insulation at 31dB and thermal insulation. This is ideal for most people in quiet urban situations and more rural areas to provide a peaceful and comfortable environment.

The Sound™ option features a thicker 6mm external pane with a narrower, 14mm cavity and a standard 4mm inner pane. This combination has proved, in our laboratory tests, to provide a significantly increased level of protection achieving an impressive 35dB sound reduction.

Safe & Sound™ glazing uses 6.4mm thick laminated glass on the outside with a 14mm cavity and 4mm inner pane. This combination increases the level of sound insulation even further to 36dB. An additional benefit of laminated glass is that it filters certain uncomfortable sound frequencies to create a particularly quiet interior environment.
Laminated glass gives added protection in the unlikely event of outside assault, as the glass remains in place even after an excessive impact.
* The level of sound reduction may be affected by certain factors such as: the varying blend of noise frequencies, trickle vents fitted to your windows and window sizes.
